The Decadent Desserts and Quilt Auction held November 6 was a great success. Thank you to all who contributed items, desserts, and to the volunteers who worked tirelessly on the auction setup, worked during the auction and who helped with the cleanup…and some of our members did ALL of these things! We also want to thank the husbands who worked so hard at the auction. Betsy and Vicky Shaffer produced lovely graphics that were used for all of the advertising and the program cover. Cookie did a beautiful job on the program layout. Aline’s fabulous banner graced the stage, front and center. Dawn did a great job on decorations, and Marybeth’s artistic eye ensured that the auction items were displayed to their best. The Gorman’s made the auction not only a success, but so much fun. The event was well received by the attendees and the auction proceeds well surpassed the estimated revenue. A special thank you to the committee members, Sue Kongs, Nell Carnein, Jan Simpson and Vicky Shaffer who worked for months to ensure that we had program ads, desserts, music and a plan of action for our first auction event. The financial report of the auction will be presented at the December guild meeting.
